Winter
Winter paddling is an ideal way to start Dragonboating.
We aim to be on the water by 9 am and the training
session is focussed on technique and strength building
for the summer months. After training we usually head
up to a cafe for brunch, so its a good idea
to bring a change of clothes.
Summer
During Summer months weeknight training pickups from
the city are organised at 5.45pm. Please contact the
Training Co-ordinator
if you need a lift by midday.
The team usually trains for about 1 - 2 hours, after
which (on weeknights) you are welcome to head to a
local hotel bistro for dinner.
Please advise the Training Coordinator of your intention
to attend training the day before a session. If you
commit to a training session and then cannot attend,
it is essential to advise the Training Coordinator
as soon as possible. This is because numbers determine
whether we go on the water or not.
Weather
We meet at the training site in any weather conditions
(both weeknights and Saturdays). The coaches will
decide if it is safe to take the boats out.
The coaches will not take the boat out under
dangerous conditions be it weather or water.
